I think you are missing some fundamental facts about what a VPN is. A VPN is a virtual LAN working over a WAN connection. This means that your users are still going to be limited to their actual connection speed to the underlying WAN; it doesn't matter if you provide another access method they'd still be limited by the underlying WAN connection speed.
I enabled the VPN service. I installed and configured OpenVPN on my Windows 10 machine. I can connect to my network just fine with the OpenVPN client. I am NOT able to access any server/resource on my network. I had this working at one point and it stopped working. I was able to RDP to my servers and access my network. After that Outlook got disconnected, and I couldn't access new web pages (old one that I had opened before connecting to VPN still worked). I realised something was wrong with DNS. What I had to do was to go back to the Internet Protocol version 4 properties (c.f. above) and select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and type 8.8.8.8 in
Select Control Panel > Network and Internet > Connect to a network. Right-click the VPN connection and select Properties . The VPN properties dialog box appears.
